By purchasing any service or product offered by JPKAIZEN, you are confirming that you have read, understood, and consented to the following Terms and Conditions in full. This agreement is binding from the moment a purchase is completed.

1. ABOUT JPKAIZEN

JPKAIZEN is a Japanese language tutoring brand offering 1-to-1 live online lessons delivered via Google Meet. All lessons are conducted by a native bilingual Japanese and English tutor operating as a sole trader under the JPKAIZEN brand. For enquiries, contact us via the JPKAIZEN website or Instagram.

2. SERVICES PROVIDED

JPKAIZEN provides the following as part of every lesson pack:

Weekly 1-to-1 live lessons (50 minutes) conducted via Google Meet
A custom study plan tailored to your individual learning goals
Lesson notes provided after each session for ongoing review
Vocabulary and grammar resources sent following every lesson
Support via Instagram or direct messaging between sessions
Monthly progress reviews
JLPT mock tests and written feedback where applicable

The specific services included may be subject to change. Any material changes will be communicated to active students in advance.

3. NATURE OF SERVICE — INDEPENDENT TUTOR DISCLOSURE

JPKAIZEN is operated by an independent, self-taught language practitioner. By purchasing any lesson pack or service, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

The tutor is not a licensed, certified, or formally accredited language teacher.

JPKAIZEN does not hold a TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, or any equivalent teaching qualification. The tutor's expertise is grounded in native bilingual fluency in both Japanese and English, personal language learning experience, and practical teaching experience accumulated over time.

JPKAIZEN does not operate as an accredited educational institution. Lessons and materials provided do not carry any formal academic credit, qualification, or certification.

Nothing in the services offered by JPKAIZEN constitutes professional academic advice. Students are encouraged to supplement their learning with additional resources and, where formal qualifications are required, to seek accredited educational providers.

By proceeding with a purchase you confirm that you understand and accept these limitations and that your decision to engage JPKAIZEN is based on the practical, experience-led nature of the tutoring offered rather than any formal accreditation.

4. USE OF AI-ASSISTED MATERIALS

JPKAIZEN uses artificial intelligence tools to assist in the creation, drafting, and formatting of certain learning materials including but not limited to vocabulary lists, grammar explanations, practice exercises, lesson notes, and worksheets.

By purchasing any lesson pack or service, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

Some materials provided as part of the JPKAIZEN service may be wholly or partially generated with the assistance of AI tools. All AI-assisted content is reviewed, edited, and verified by the tutor before being shared with students to ensure accuracy, clarity, and relevance to the student's level and goals.

JPKAIZEN does not represent AI-generated content as entirely hand-authored original work. However, all materials are curated and delivered with professional care and are designed to be educationally sound and fit for purpose.

The use of AI assistance in material creation does not diminish the quality, accuracy, or educational value of the content provided.

JPKAIZEN takes full responsibility for the content of all materials

shared, regardless of the tools used in their production.

Students may not use AI-generated materials provided by JPKAIZEN to train, fine-tune, or develop any AI model or competing educational product.

5. LESSON PACKS AND PRICING

Lessons are sold in packs as listed on the JPKAIZEN website at the time of purchase. All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (GBP).

Current pack structure:

5-Lesson Pack — valid for 1 month from date of purchase
10-Lesson Pack — valid for 2 months from date of purchase
15-Lesson Pack — valid for 3 months from date of purchase

Lesson packs must be used within the validity period stated at the time of purchase. Unused lessons that expire within the validity window are forfeited and will not be carried over, refunded, or exchanged unless JPKAIZEN is at fault for the sessions not taking place.

JPKAIZEN reserves the right to update pricing at any time. Price changes will not affect packs already purchased.

6. PAYMENT

All payments are processed securely through the JPKAIZEN website hosted on Wix. By completing a purchase, you authorise the full payment amount to be charged at the time of checkout.

Lessons will not be scheduled or confirmed until full payment has been received. JPKAIZEN does not offer credit, deferred payment, or instalment plans unless expressly agreed in writing.

Chargebacks or payment disputes raised without first contacting JPKAIZEN directly will be considered a breach of these terms. JPKAIZEN reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate access to all services for any student who initiates an unjustified chargeback.

7 CANCELLATION AND RESCHEDULING

7.1 Student Cancellations

You must provide a minimum of 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Notice must be given via Instagram message or another agreed communication channel.

Cancellations with 24 or more hours' notice: the lesson will be rescheduled at no charge
Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice: the lesson will be marked as used and no reschedule or refund will be offered
No-shows without any notice: the lesson is forfeited entirely

Repeated late cancellations (more than twice within a single pack) may result in JPKAIZEN requiring a new pack to be purchased before further sessions are scheduled.

7.2 Tutor Cancellations

In the rare event that JPKAIZEN must cancel a session, you will be notified as early as possible and the lesson will be rescheduled at a mutually convenient time. If rescheduling is not possible, a credit for that lesson will be applied to your pack.

8. REFUND POLICY

JPKAIZEN offers a 7-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase.

To be eligible for a full refund, your request must be submitted within 7 days of purchase and before any lesson in the pack has been delivered.

Refund requests are not accepted in the following circumstances:

More than 7 days have passed since the date of purchase
One or more lessons from the pack have already been delivered
The student has received written lesson materials, resources, or a custom study plan as part of the service
The cancellation notice requirements in Section 7 were not followed

Partial refunds for unused lessons within an active pack are not available except in exceptional circumstances at the sole discretion of JPKAIZEN.

To request a refund within the eligible window, contact JPKAIZEN directly via the website or Instagram before the 7-day period expires.

9. STUDENT CONDUCT AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Students agree to the following conditions when engaging with JPKAIZEN:

Attend sessions punctually via the Google Meet link provided
Provide adequate notice for cancellations or rescheduling as outlined in Section 7
Engage respectfully and constructively during all sessions and communications
Ensure a stable internet connection and functioning audio and video equipment
Refrain from recording any session without the explicit prior written consent of JPKAIZEN
Not share, reproduce, or redistribute any JPKAIZEN materials with third parties

JPKAIZEN reserves the right to immediately terminate a student's pack without refund in cases of abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate behaviour directed at the tutor, whether during a session or via any communication channel.

JPKAIZEN also reserves the right to refuse service to any individual at its discretion without being required to provide a detailed explanation.

10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All lesson materials, worksheets, notes, resources, video content, and any other content produced or shared by JPKAIZEN remain the sole intellectual property of JPKAIZEN and are protected under applicable UK copyright law, regardless of whether those materials were created manually or with the assistance of AI tools.

Materials provided to students are strictly for personal educational use only. You may not:

Reproduce or copy materials for distribution
Share materials with third parties, publicly or privately
Sell or commercially exploit any JPKAIZEN content
Use JPKAIZEN materials to create competing products or services
Use JPKAIZEN materials to train or develop any AI system or model
Claim ownership over any content created or curated by JPKAIZEN

Any unauthorised use of JPKAIZEN intellectual property may result in legal action.

11. CONFIDENTIALITY

Both parties agree to treat as confidential any information shared during lessons that is not intended for public disclosure. Students agree not to record, screenshot, or share any lesson content, tutor feedback, or private communications without the express written permission of JPKAIZEN.

JPKAIZEN will not share personal information about students or their learning progress with any third party without consent, except where required by law.

12. PRIVACY AND DATA

JPKAIZEN collects limited personal information including name and contact details solely for the purpose of delivering the tutoring service. This information will not be sold or shared with third parties without your consent, except where required by applicable law.

By purchasing a lesson pack you consent to JPKAIZEN contacting you via the platform or channel used at the time of purchase for the purposes of scheduling, lesson delivery, and progress communication.

JPKAIZEN complies with applicable UK data protection legislation including the UK GDPR. You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting JPKAIZEN directly.

13. DISCLAIMER OF GUARANTEES

JPKAIZEN will deliver all services with reasonable skill, care, and professionalism. However, JPKAIZEN does not guarantee any specific learning outcomes, examination results, JLPT pass rates, or language proficiency milestones. Progress is dependent on the student's own effort, consistency, and engagement between sessions.

JPKAIZEN is not responsible for technical failures on the student's side including but not limited to poor internet connection, device failure, or platform issues that result in a lesson being disrupted or incomplete. In such cases the lesson will be considered delivered unless JPKAIZEN is notified immediately and agrees otherwise.

14. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, JPKAIZEN shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, the tutoring service. This includes but is not limited to loss of earnings, loss of opportunity, or failure to achieve a particular language or examination outcome.

JPKAIZEN's total liability in respect of any claim arising from these terms or the services provided shall not exceed the total amount paid by the student for the relevant lesson pack.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

15. AMENDMENTS TO THESE TERMS

JPKAIZEN reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. The most current version will be published on the JPKAIZEN website. Continued use of the service after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

For active students, any material changes will be communicated directly before taking effect.

16. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or the services provided by JPKAIZEN shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to first attempt resolution through direct communication before pursuing formal legal proceedings.

17. SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable for any reason, that provision shall be deemed severable and shall not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions.

18. ENTIRE AGREEMENT

These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between JPKAIZEN and the student with respect to the services provided and supersede any prior discussions, representations, or agreements whether written or verbal.
